Trumpet Winsock Init string errors:
For Trumpet Winsock, go under Dialer, and Edit Scripts. Double-click on login.cmd. Then once in Notepad, go down to the line that reads $modemsetup="&C1&K3". Delete everything within the double-quotes and enter in the new initialization string you found. After you have done this, click on "File", then "Save", then click on "File" again, and "Exit".

I am inconsistently receiving lots of DNS errors while using Internet Explorer under Windows 3.x and other internet applications, how can I fix this?

This usually has to do with the baud rate of your modem. If your modem is a 14.4KBps modem (14400 Bps) then you should set your baud rate to 19200. If your modem is a 28.8KBps modem (28800 Bps) then you should set your baud rate to 38400. This is done under Trumpet Winsock by selecting File then Setup. Baud rate should be near the bottom of the Setup Window. Remember to restart Trumpet Winsock to allow the changes to take effect.
